Description of Project:

Three studieswere conducted for the Environmental Impacts for the alternative use of three Olympic Venues. More specifically the studies conducted for the following Olympic Venues were: a) Goudi Olympic Complex, b) Olympic Sailing Centre of St. Kosmas, c) Ano Liosia Olympic Hall. The studies for the Olympic Venues were conducted in accordance with the Law 3010/25.04.2002 which harmoniseds the Law 1650/1986 with the Directives of 97/11/E.U and 96/61/E.U. For their conduction, all the executive decisionsof the law and all the relevant explanatory circulars were assessed and auditied, which had been issued by that time.
The below methodology was followed:

• Assessment and evaluation of all the available data and studies concerning the specific Project as well as the planning interventions for the alternative use (constructive and functional interventions)
• Assessed thecompatibility of the planning new alternatives with the general legislative and normative framework concerning the Project’s Region (Land Planning and Regulative Planning, Regional Development Programs, available restrictions of environmental character e.t.c)
• Plotted in complete accuracy and credibility in pictures, the current condition of the Projects and the Venues as well as the general picture of the surrounding environment.
• Appointed in quality and comparatively rated the prospective effects (positive or negative) which were introduced due to the alternative use. On their basis the overall environmental evaluation (including EIA and Environmental Audits) of the planning intervention was based

The records, the evaluations and the assessments as well as the documentation of the compatibility of the planning changes, was incorporated in the Technical Report and the attached Issues of the Studies of the Environmental Effects and was submitted for approval by the central and regional actors.
