Description of Project:

The project concerned the provision of consulting services aiming to prepare the sustainable energy use plan in the Municipality of Megalopoli. The overall objective of the contract was to analyse the production of CO2 emissions from the use of energy sources like oil, wood and lignite. Preparation of specific measures (studies) for replacing traditional energy sources like oil and lignite, with alternative energy sources like natural gas and other environmental friendly sources (i.e solar energy). Comparative analysis to Greek and EU legislation and proposed approximation policies related to energy legislation. |

Services Provided: |
Component 1: Development of the basic emission inventory
Component 2: Preparation/study of the Sustainable Development Action Plan Covered the whole geographical area of the local authority (Municipality of Megalopoli). Included actions concerning both the public and private sectors. The main target sectors were buildings, equipment/facilities and urban transport, and to local electricity production (development of PV) |
