Description of Project:

The overall objective of the project is to increase the employability of disadvantaged persons, facilitate their access to labour market and increase their access to public employment services especially in order to reduce the intergenerational transmission of poverty by supporting achievement of students coming from groups in poverty or at risk of poverty. The purposes of this contract are as follows: 1. To increase the cooperation between DG CHI, universities and other institutions dealing with employment and social inclusion policies to be able to deliver better services to disadvantaged higher education students, 2. To facilitate the access of disadvantaged students to labour market, 3. To reinforce the capacity of DG CHI regarding the service provided to disadvantaged students, 4. To increase the awareness of university students on the opportunities provided by the EU and Turkish institutions regarding employment and transition from school to work Under this project, specific results will lead to: 5. Eased the smooth transition from school to work by the disadvantaged students in higher education. 6. Increased employability of disadvantaged higher education students. 7. Improved effectiveness of guidance and counselling activities for higher education students. 8. Reinforced capacity of DG CHI for providing better quality services to disadvantaged students in collaboration with universities and relevant institutions.
The main component of the operation is the institutional capacity building component which aims at increasing the capacity of Operation Beneficiary and relevant institutions to provide better services to the target group. Another component of the operation is the guidance and counselling component which aims at easing transition from school to work of the young people.
