Pre-feasibility study for the creation of a para-governmental non-profitable National Drugs Purchasing Agency in Moldova, with the mission to purchase drugs according to the WHO list of essential drugs and supply public health structures with generic drugs according to national standardised therapeutic schemes. A situation analysis of the drugs market in Moldova was performed, with emphasis on:
Preliminary recommendations concerning the institutional status of the Agency and the necessary changes to the current legislation were produced and discussed with the Minister of Health. Final recommendations including an outline of the financial mechanisms for the functioning of the National Drugs Purchasing Agency were elaborated and presented during a two-days workshop to main stakeholders involved in drug purchasing in Moldova. |
