Description of Project:

The project, aims at upgrading the technical and professional skills of the target groups with a view to entering the Greek labour market after having valuated their initial professional skills. It is anticipated that, the valuation of their initial professional skills will become an important means for combating racism and xenophobia in the Greek society. The proposed activities, aim also at eliminating the climate of uncertainly and mistrust which prevails within the target groups so as to accept the proposed activities for reinforcing their employability and facilitating their social insertion.

Services Provided:

• Survey of the labour market needs in new technical professions and specialties

• Evaluation of the technical and professional skills of the repatriates, immigrants and refugees

• Accreditation of professional skills and certificates.

• Education and training for upgrading the professional skills of the target groups.

• Creation and operation of specialized structures for provision of services such as professional orientation, information and psychological support to members of the target groups.

• Training of cultural mediators.

• Information and sensitization campaign

• Development of database and web site

• Development of an "Anti-racist Packet".
