Description of Project:

Falling within the framework of the Commissions' strategy for the encouragement of local action for employment, the present project addresses Measure 3 "Information, dissemination, awareness raising and co-operation" and aims at disseminating information on good practices of projects, programmes and instruments at different levels in support of local action for employment and establishing co-operation between territories and member states.


The project's purposes are: strengthening the capacity of all actors to promote local employment; promoting learning from the results of best practices; facilitating access to the information both locally and transitionally and creating new forms of permanent international co-operation.


The project's activities focusing on the establishment of a permanent network of dissemination of information on successful local initiatives and practices related to employment are as follows:

  • Establishment of an inventory of local activities supporting employment in seven countries
  • Identification and dissemination of best practices relating in particular to: innovative organisational forms; successful forms of co-operation concerning local employment strategy; solutions for the co-ordination of the local employment strategy with the other local employment strategies, such as environmental protection; best practices facilitating local access to the new information society tools and services.
  • Provision of information on the transferability of successful local experiences and establishment of a permanent co-operation among the seven countries.
  • Provision of recommendations to local actors of the seven countries on the exploitation of the best practices identified
  • Provision of materials that can be used in the elaboration of local dimensions in National Action Plans for Employment (NAPs).
  • The organisation of conferences and the creation of a best practice handbook will be used for the dissemination of the information, whilst the interactive web-site will be used as a permanent tool for the exchange of information.
