Description of Project:

The overall objective is to support BIH's economic and social development through further reform of the VET system in the light of the EU policy related to the Lisbon Strategy.


The project's purpose is to enhance and consolidate VET quality and effectiveness with an orientation towards the EU Copenhagen process.


The project has have five components, closely interlinked and complementing each other:


Component 1: Governance and Policy development

Capacity building activities will be delivered at several levels: stake holder level, staff in Agency's VET Department and school level. Study visits and dissemination activities will take place.


Component 2: Institutional development

Development of a Management Information System (VETIS) inside the Agency.

Training activities for the staff of the Agency


Component 3: Modular curricula development for 5 occupational families and teacher training

Reform of five selected occupational families (1. geology; mining & metallurgy; 2. chemistry, non-metals & graphics, 3.traffic 4. health and 5. miscellaneous);

Teacher training on new learning and teaching methodologies and their implementation.


Component 4: Financing Model

Development of a New financing model for VET.


Component 5: Technical specification for equipment for VET schools
