Description of Project:
|
SABIEN is a European Project, funded under the European Union Leonardo da Vinci programme. The Project partners - from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Northern Ireland, Poland and Portugal - bring a range of expertise in working with young people aged 15 to 20 who belong to disadvantaged groups. The SABIEN Project was established to address the identified need to review, revise and develop training modules addressing social, community and life-skills courses within alternative education and vocational training programmes; with a view to promoting opportunities for personal creativeness along with an entrepreneurial-spirit that will enhance motivation and self-esteem amongst young people aged 15-20 years in alternative education and vocational training programmes. Most of these young people belong to disadvantaged groups who did not succeed in compulsory education. The concrete objectives of the SABIEN Project include the adaptation and development of training modules that are more interactive than many current training materials. Amongst other features the modules will offer opportunities for the young people to apply and exercise basic ICT skills, by maximising the efficient use of ICT resources into the training materials. |
