Description of Project:

The objective of the project is to contribute to Sustainable Development and Poverty Alleviation through Empowering Local Communities and Enhancing Human Development in southern Giza.

The action aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable people resident in four sub-urban and semi-rural communities of Egypt, through promoting Community empowerment, Educational facilities, Socio-cultural initiatives, Vocational training and Job orientation services. The project main activities include:

  • Capacity Building;
  • Gender awareness;
  • Educational centers' rehabilitation;
  • Teachers' trainings;
  • Public libraries and Community Media Centers;
  • Job-orientation services;
  • Vocational training;
  • Working conditions improvement;
  • Income-Generating activities.

The results of the project will be: 1) Community empowerment through capacity building and gender awareness; 2) Quantity and quality of the services offered by Educational centers improved; 3) Socio-cultural activities promoted/enhanced; 4) Job-orientation services and Vocational training strengthened and linked to income-generating activities.

EP is subcontracting to ANCE

Services Provided:
  • Capacity building for CDA Board Members and local leaders in order to provide them with the proper tools to play a major role in promoting community development at local level, identifying needs and priorities, acquiring advocacy skills, networking with similar experiences, and negotiating with local authorities, policy-makers and stakeholders.
