Description of Project:

The purpose of REINO is to create effective methods and lasting support structures for carrying out business transfers of micro companies effectively and successfully. During the two year long project partners in Denmark, Finland, Greece and Italy will map out the test the implementation of support services in different stages of the business transfer process in order to achieve an established service outline with a proactive stance to assist companies through the transfer process as well as develop transferable, innovative tools and methods to tackle specific challenges of business transfers through pilot projects and exchange experiences and good practices developed previously.


By generating overall improvement, REINO contributes in accomplishing successful transfers effectively and thus performs direct measures for safeguarding viable companies, jobs, services and know-how. Efforts of complementary partners, involvement of stakeholders, observers and beneficiaries ensures that the project results have relevance and sustainability far beyond duration of this project.

Services Provided:

  • Creation of lasting support structures is based on a process-orientated methodology of a development cycle with five sequential actions: a. baseline analysis, b. anticipation, c. ideal process flowchart, d. Tool box, e. Business Renewal Centres, carried out in all partner countries. The implementation of each phase is based upon the experiences and results of the previous actions and transnational as well as regional cooperation involving relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries (min 20 micro companies per country)
  • Innovative methods and approaches are developed through six pilot projects implemented by project partners. Activities are focused on the following aspects relating to business transfers: a. identification and activation of micro company entrepreneurs approaching transfer, b. finding successors among specific target groups: employees and females, c. use of mentoring in the transfer situation, d. examination of the characteristics of business transfers in order to present a methodology for categorising business transfers.
