Description of Project:

Strengthening the Small and Medium sized enterprise sector in the industrial decline areas in the North West and South Central regions by means of assisting entrepreneurs to set up a new business and supporting existing small businesses. This is one of two components of a World Wide Framework Contract, the other one being a Quality Management System Grant Scheme.

This project component is aiming at setting up to 8 Business Incubators in the above mentioned regions and includes technical assistance to the Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Ministry of Economy, through evaluation of potential suitable locations and buildings and assistance to the local governments and organisations for presenting applications for BI schemes.

An assessment of the impact resulting from business incubation development at the Tendering stage was part of the work component of technical assistance for the benefit of the Steering Committee and Tender Evaluation Committee.
